Background

I care about making schools places where every student can belong and grow.

I'm a researcher and psychologist whose work bridges research, clinical practice, teaching, and mentoring. I grew up in Hong Kong and completed my doctoral training at the University of California, Santa Barbara, followed by a clinical internship on the beautiful island of Kauai, Hawai'i. I then spent two years as an Assistant Professor at Utah State University before joining the University of California, Berkeley in 2025 to continue my research and teaching. I speak fluent English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, and outside of work I'm the mom to a curious son.

My research focuses on developing equitable systems and structures that enable schools to support the social-emotional functioning and well-being of diverse student populations.

I also enjoy teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds as they develop the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed to become school psychologists.
